Join us part-time or full-time and we pay for your swim teaching qualification. You earn above the award from your first shift, and the qualification is yours to keep, wherever you go next.
SwimTech runs lessons all year round across Albury-Wodonga and Wangaratta. That means real full-time and part-time work, not a summer job. We teach kids to be strong, technical swimmers who can save themselves, not just float or swim a short distance.
You don't need to be 17, a former swimmer or a teacher. You need to be good with kids and reliable. We'll teach you the rest.
Tell us a bit about you in the short form at the bottom of this page and we'll reach out.
Get paid to become a swim teacher.
No qualification? Join us part-time or full-time and we'll pay for it.
Most people who'd make brilliant swim teachers never apply. Getting qualified costs money, and they're not sure the job is worth it. So for anyone who joins us part-time or full-time, we take that part off the table.
Here's how it works:
You start as an Assistant Swim Teacher on a part-time or full-time contract (20-30 hours a week or more), paid from your first shift.
SwimTech books and pays for your swim teaching course and CPR certificate (worth around $500). You need to be 16 or over to do the course.
You keep working, and learning from our teachers, while you complete it.
Once you're qualified, you move into Swim Teacher shifts and Swim Teacher pay.
If it turns out swim teaching isn't for you, the qualification is still yours. It's recognised across Australia and around the world.
All we ask is a commitment to giving it a go for at least 6 months.
Casual assistant roles are open too, from age 14-15. They're a great first job, and you're welcome to do the course in your own time, the paid-for course is for our part-time and full-time team.
Why would we do this? Because we'd rather train the right person than hire the wrong qualified one. Most of our leadership team started exactly this way.
The SwimTech Difference (for staff)
✅ $15.01 - $27.29 (unqualified) – $21.51 - $31.38 (qualified) an hour, above the award rate for every role (part-time/full-time pay rates, more for casual employees)
✅ Your swim teaching qualification, paid for by SwimTech (part-time and full-time team members)
✅ Real career progression, most of our leadership team started in traineeship roles Oliver our Operations Manager in Albury, started as a Swim Teacher in 2024.
✅ Full-time and part-time work, all year round. (not just during the school terms)
✅ Shifts set for the whole year, so you know your hours weeks in advance.
✅ Continuous development to become the best at your job, and to grow as a person
✅ Free use of our facility whenever we're open (practise your swimming, use the hydrotherapy pool)
✅ Reward and recognition programs (cash, status, recognition and fun perks)
Who this is for?
Some of our team joined at 15 for their first job. Plenty didn't. Our teachers have come to us from hospitality, retail, nursing, the trades and full-time parenting. What they have in common: they're good with kids, they turn up, and they care about doing the job well.
Many of our team start as Assistant Swim Teachers and grow into highly skilled Swim Teachers as they gain experience and complete their qualification, which we pay for once they're part-time or full-time.
As SwimTech grows across multiple locations, new opportunities open up regularly for people who show effort, reliability and a commitment to our standards. We always look to promote internally before hiring externally.
